Step 1: Consultation and Application
The journey begins with understanding your goals and starting the formal process.
- Schedule a Call with SPI
Begin with a consultation to discuss your family-building goals, address any questions, and review the surrogacy process. - Complete the Intended Parent (IP) Application
Submit your application to formally start your surrogacy journey. Our team will review your details and work closely with you to ensure everything is in order.
Step 2: Finding Your Surrogate
Matching with the right surrogate is one of the most important parts of the process.
- Contact with International Clinic
Connect with our partnered international clinic to discuss medical aspects and review your preferences for your surrogate. - Get Matched with Your Surrogate
IP(s) will be matched with a carefully screened surrogate who aligns with your preferences and values. - Medical Testing for Donors (if applicable)
If egg or sperm donors are involved, we’ll coordinate all necessary medical testing. - IVF/Embryo Transfer
Once the medical testing is complete, the process moves to the creation and transfer of embryos to the surrogate.
Step 3: Pregnancy
As your surrogate begins the pregnancy journey, you’ll stay connected and involved every step of the way.
- Medical Appointments
The surrogate will attend regular medical check-ups, including ultrasounds, to monitor the baby’s development. - Scheduled Calls with Your Surrogate
Stay connected with your surrogate through scheduled calls, ensuring open communication and peace of mind. - Prepare for Travel
Plan your trip to your surrogate’s country in preparation for the birth. - Work with Legal Counsel
Legal counsel will contact you as the birth process is approaching to ensure all necessary legal documentation is prepared in advance.
Step 4: Birth
Welcome your new baby into the world!
- Travel for the Birth
The intended parents (IPs) fly to the international clinic to be present for the birth of their baby. - Plan to Stay for Six Weeks to Eight Weeks
You may need to remain in the surrogate’s country for about six weeks to eight weeks to complete the necessary legal and medical requirements. - Bonding with Your Baby
Spend time with your newborn and begin building a lifetime of love and memories.
Step 5: Post-Birth Support
SPI ensures a smooth transition home for you and your baby.
- Immigration Documentation
We’ll assist in concluding all immigration and legal documentation to bring your baby safely to the U.S. - Ongoing Support
Even after the surrogacy process is complete, our team remains available to provide guidance and answer any questions you may have.
